Layer Warm Up

The chill in the air creates a desire for everything to be a bit cozier. This year's warmer color palette fits the fall season perfectly: maroon, amber, olive, ivory, and brass, just to name a few. The best way to invoke a chic fall aesthetic and not go literal-pumpkin-spice-everything would be to use these warm tones by subtly layering up: add sweater-like throws or pillows on a sofa; place a smaller, textured rug on top of a larger rug for some extra interest; light multiple cream-colored votive candles at dusk; lay a long table runner in a unique pattern over your island or table; and add earthy-toned faux florals to your vases. You can spend big on luxe materials or go budget-friendly with finds at discount home store - both work beautifully. After you style your home, sit back with your cup of tea and embrace the warm up.
