Sage is the Rage

You may be noticing an influx of the color sage in home decor. Sage is a greenish-gray color that can be used as both a color and a neutral. It's not the sage of the 90s that's bright and kitschy, but updated in a more sophisticated version of the original - think muted and subtle. Sherwin Williams dubbed their "Evergreen Fog" a sagey-mint hue their color of the year, and Benjamin Moore chose an airy sage for their color of the year, "October Mist 1495." You can find sage in throw pillows, furniture, interior and exterior paint, art, kitchen cabinets, front doors and even trendy botanicals. It pairs well with its compliment (peachy-rust), it's analogous hues (muddy blue or ochre) or as a refreshed note of color against a neutral like bright white. Wherever you land on the sage spectrum, it's definitely all the rage. Give it a go if you dare.
